Fourth Grade

Mokapu’s fourth grade encourages students to Kulia I ka nu’u, or Strive to Reach the Summit. The curriculum is aligned to the state’s standards and General Learner Outcomes (GLOs). We also follow the national social studies spiraled curriculum that emphasizes the study of “The State” in fourth grade. Art instruction by a local expert is provided. We incorporate field trips during the year which vary from a symphony, theater production, the Bishop Museum, and the Polynesian Cultural Center. From volcanoes to canoes, our grade level integrates all subject areas to enrich your child’s unique experience in Hawai’i. Research proves parent participation and involvement is a key factor in your individual child’s success. Ask your teacher what you can to support your child’s learning.
